How Did The Witch Hunt And The Trials End

The governor of the colony put an end to this witch hunt. This occurred mostly for selfish reasons. But before that, the witch trails did tune down a little. A lot of respectable people in Salem village were also being accused. Thomas Brattle also wrote a letter to the governor saying that he was making a big mistake by letting this happen. The governer then disbanded the court that holds the trails and ordered the witch hunt to stop. The letter and his wife being accused made this happen. The governer and many others believed that lots of insistent people were being killed. Later then the witch trails ended in May of 1693 when the remaining victims were released from jail. Good thing someone put an end to this delusion.
